Deadly Rollover Collision in Avondale
Avondale, Arizona: One person died in a rollover multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday morning on Interstate 10 in Avondale.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. in the westbound HOV lane of the freeway between Fairway Drive and Avondale Boulevard.
Three cars collided, and one overturned onto its side.
Emergency personnel extricated one person from the overturned vehicle and transported them to the hospital. The patient later died while receiving treatment.
It was unclear if anyone else was seriously injured.
Westbound I-10 was shut down during the investigation.
