Department of Medical Examiner Identifies Woman Killed in Woodland Hills Crash

Woodland Hills, California: 39-year-old Candy La Torre Zapata died in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Saturday morning on southbound Ventura (101) Freeway in Woodland Hills, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner reported.

Investigators said the crash happened around 12:12 a.m. near the Winnetka Avenue off-ramp.

A silver BMW and a black BMW were involved in the crash, sustaining major damage.

First responders found the victim beneath one of the cars and pronounced her dead.

Details about the cause and manner of the accident were not provided.

Southbound 101 Freeway was closed for several hours following the crash.
