Deputy and Two Others Injured in Crash During Police Chase in Victorville
Victorville, California: A deputy and two others were injured in a collision that happened during a police chase Thursday afternoon in Victorville.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department – Victorville Station, a deputy from Adelanto was involved in a crash around 5:11 p.m. near Bear Valley Road and Mesa View Drive.
Authorities said the deputy attempted a traffic stop but the motorist failed to pull over, leading to a chase.
During the pursuit, the patrol vehicle collided with a burgundy Scion XA and a black Dodge Durango.
Deputies from the Victorville Station and other emergency personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the scene.
The deputy and the drivers of the other cars, identified as 22-year-old Richard Reyes-Escobar of Adelanto and 28-year-old Javier Flores of Hesperia, were hospitalized with minor injuries.
The report did not provide information about the suspect that was being pursued.
Bear Valley Road between Mesa View Drive and Monte Vista Road was shut down for several hours following the crash.
