Dirt Bike Rider Airlifted after Colliding with Car in Apple Valley
Apple Valley, California: One person was airlifted to the hospital after a collision involving a dirt bike and a car that happened Saturday afternoon in Apple Valley.
The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. on Outer Highway 18 and Olalee Road, near the entrance to Tom’s Famous Family Restaurant.
Authorities said a green/white Kawasaki dirt bike crashed into the front passenger side of a white Jeep Gladiator for an unknown reason. The dirt bike broke into pieces due to the impact.
The rider sustained critical injuries. The Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the scene and requested a medical helicopter to airlift the rider to the hospital. The patient was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators closed the highway in both directions following the crash.
