Driver and Passenger Killed in Bakersfield Crash in May Identified

Bakersfield, California: The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the two people who died in a head-on collision that took place in Bakersfield as Oscar Alejandro Silva Cuevas, 29, of Fresno, and 69-year-old Herminia Perez.

The two died in a crash that occurred around 3:34 a.m. on May 12 on northbound Highway 43, north of Pond Road.

Investigators said Cuevas was driving a Honda northbound on the highway when, for an unknown reason, he drifted to the left directly into the path of a southbound Dodge, resulting in a head-on collision.

Cuevas and Perez died in the crash.
