Driver Killed, Another Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on U.S. 60 in Tempe

Tempe, Arizona: A wrong-way driver died, and another person was hospitalized after a traffic collision that happened Sunday night in Tempe.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the wreck was reported just before 11 p.m. on U.S. 60 near Interstate 10.

A preliminary investigation showed that a car was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic in the U.S. 60 ramp to I-10.

The wrong-way car then collided with another vehicle.

The wrong-way driver died at the scene.

The occupants of the other vehicle were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries but were released later.

No other details were available but an investigation is ongoing.
