Driver Dies After Fullerton Car Accident near Richman and Orangethorpe Avenues
Fullerton, California (September 17, 2023) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly head-on collision claimed a driver’s life on Friday night in Fullerton.
The accident happened near Richman and Orangethorpe Avenue at about 9:00 p.m. on September 15.
Police confirmed a white 2006 Honda Civic was heading eastbound on Orangethorpe towards Richman at a high rate of speed.
The Civic then swerved into approaching traffic to avoid crashing into the rear of another car in front that was heading eastbound at a slower speed.
Upon swerving, the Civic crashed head-on into a gray 2016 Nissan Pathfinder.
The Honda motorist was rushed to a trauma center, where they died. Their identity remained undisclosed.
The Pathfinder motorist, a 44-year-old Fullerton man, and his 8-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries following the collision.
Further details concerning this crash were released.
An investigation is ongoing.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
