Driver Killed in Pasco Car Crash on Highway 395 and Vineyard Drive

Pasco, Washington: 23-year-old Luis Acosta Hernandez of Pasco died in a traffic collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Pasco.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the wreck took place around 1:15 p.m. on Highway 395 at Vineyard Drive.

Investigators said Hernandez was driving a pickup truck westbound on Vineyard Drive, and Jose Navarro, 35, of Umatilla, was driving a semi-truck northbound on Highway 395.

Hernandez failed to yield the right of way and entered the highway, colliding with the semi-truck.

Hernandez got trapped inside his vehicle. First responders pronounced him dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Navarro was taken to Lourdes Medical Center for his injuries.

One northbound lane of the highway was closed during an investigation.
