Driver Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured in Box Truck Accident on 215 Freeway in San Bernardino

San Bernardino, California: One person died, and another was seriously injured in a big rig accident that happened Wednesday afternoon on the 215 Freeway in San Bernardino.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway near 210 Freeway.

A Nissan Versa was traveling at an unknown rate of speed when it came to a sudden stop. A Freightliner Box Truck traveling behind the Versa crashed into it.

The impact of the collision caused the car to veer into the guardrail, and the truck to overturn.

The female driver of the Versa was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

CHP-San Bernardino Office is investigating the collision.
