DUI Driver Hits Sedan Twice in Hanford, Injuring 2

Hanford, California: Three people, including a DUI driver, were hospitalized after the suspect hit a sedan twice Friday night at an intersection in Hanford.

According to the Hanford Police Department, the wreck occurred around 9:20 p.m. at 12th Avenue and Highway 198 eastbound off-ramp.

Police officers responded to the scene and found a sedan and a truck involved in the collision.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Mark Borboa, 68, was driving the truck southbound on 12th, approaching the traffic light at the off-ramp. Borboa ran the red light and hit a sedan making a northbound turn onto 12th from the off-ramp.

The truck broadsided the sedan at a significant speed, causing it to spin. The truck continued to travel southbound, jumping onto the center median and then entering the southbound lane of 12th and hitting the sedan again.

The 19-year-old driver of the sedan and a 16-year-old passenger were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

Borboa was also hospitalized with a broken hip.

Police arrested Borboa on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, as open bottles were found in his truck.
