DUI, Speed Suspected in Deadly Crash in Fullerton

Fullerton, California: A woman died, and three others were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle accident that happened early Monday morning in Fullerton.

The Fullerton Police Department said three vehicles collided around 12:11 a.m. near Orangethorpe Avenue and Harbor Boulevard.

Police officers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and found a white BMW, a blue Toyota RAV4, and a black Chevrolet Silverado involved in the accident.

A 62-year-old Anaheim woman who was a passenger in the RAV4 was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other people were hospitalized with injuries, including an 18-year-old Fullerton resident, a 22-year-old Anaheim resident, and a 25-year-old Anaheim resident.

Investigators determined that the BMW was traveling southbound in the No. 1 lane when it rear-ended the RAV4, which was stopped at a red light. The BMW then struck the Silverado on the driver’s side as it was also stopped at the same red light in the No. 2 lane.

Police said they are looking into the possibility that the BMW driver was impaired and speeding prior to the crash.
