Shafter, California – 74-year-old Eric Hoffman, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the man who died in a multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at around 6:50 a.m. on Zerker Road near 7th Standard Road, according to the Shafter Police Department.
Four vehicles were recovered at the accident scene.
Hoffman was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Two other people suffered minor to moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred around 5:42 a.m. in the 1599 block of East Betteravia Road.
A red Nissan sedan and a white sedan were involved in the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found one person with major injuries. The patient was hospitalized in unknown condition.
CHP officers are investigating the accident.

Orangevale, California – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that left a bicyclist dead on Thursday afternoon in Orangevale.
The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Elm and Beach avenues at around 4:30 a.m., according to the police.
The man was riding the electric bicycle heading south on Beech Avenue approaching Elm Avenue while a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Elm Avenue.
Both the bicyclist and the driver entered the intersection at the same time and collided.
The bicyclist was killed in the crash.
The pickup driver was not injured and stayed at the scene after the crash.
More details regarding the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

The man reportedly ran across the highway directly in front of a car and was hit.
