Erica Armenta and Mia Juarez Seriously Hurt in Keyes Accident on Highway 99
Keyes, California (May 3, 2023) – 2-year-old Mia Juarez was airlifted, and 27-year-old Erica Armenta of Parlier was severely injured after a two-vehicle collision on Saturday evening in Keyes.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 9:58 p.m. on April 29 on Highway 99.
Police said 26-year-old Christopher Frias of Parlier was heading south on Highway 99 middle lane in a 2000 Chevy SUV when he changed lanes unsafely to the left lane. The SUV crashed into the rear of a 2019 Mercedes operated by 39-year-old Manuel Guillen of Delhi before rolling over in the center divider.
Two passengers, Armenta and Juarez, were thrown out of the SUV after the crash. The two suffered severe injuries from the collision. Juarez was flown to U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, while Armenta was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Guillen did not suffer any injuries in the collision. Frias suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Doctors Medical Center. He was later booked into Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI, child endangerment, and driving without a license.
