Family of Three Hospitalized After Wrong-Way Collision in San Marcos
San Marcos, California: A family of three was hospitalized after a wrong-way crash that happened Sunday night near an intersection in San Marcos.
According to police, three vehicles were involved in the accident around 8 p.m. near South Santa Fe Avenue and North Rancho Santa Fe Road.
The accident involved a blue Honda SUV, a red Honda SUV, and a white Toyota car.
Police said a 29-year-old man was, for an unknown reason, driving the blue Honda westbound in the eastbound lanes of South Santa Fe Road. The car collided head-on into the red Honda and the Toyota.
The red Honda was occupied by a 24-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and their baby. The baby’s parents were transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The baby was not hurt but was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital as a precaution.
Paramedics evaluated the 46-year-old driver of the Toyota at the scene.
The wrong-way driver suffered major but non-life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla for treatment.
Authorities are investigating to establish if alcohol was a contributing factor.
The crash forced the closure of South Santa Fe Avenue between North Rancho Santa Fe Road and South Las Flores Drive.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
65-Year-Old Kenneth Joseph McLeod Dies in Irvine Crash at Alton Parkway and Foster
Kenneth Joseph McLeod Killed in Irvine Motorcycle Accident
Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Woman Hospitalized After Victorville Pedestrian Accident at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road
Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
