Escalon, California: One person died in a bicycle accident that happened Wednesday morning in Escalon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision was reported just before 6 a.m. on Santa Fe Road near Henry Road.
A driver called authorities reporting that they had struck a pedestrian on a bicycle.
Responding emergency personnel said one person died in the crash.
Santa Fe Road was shut down between Henry Road and Hall Road following the collision.

Los Angeles Fire Department personnel pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

The driver of the car stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the police.
