Fatal Crash Closes Westbound Lanes of Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Sunday Night
Richmond, California: The California Highway Patrol said one person was killed in a traffic collision that happened Sunday night on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.
The accident happened just before 8 p.m. near the bridge’s midspan in the westbound lanes of the 580 Freeway.
CHP initially said the crash involved a single car, but later said they believe two vehicles were involved.
One person died in the collision, and at least one other party was hurt.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes such as CA-37.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
