Female Cyclist Fatally Hit by Car in Sacramento County
Sacramento County, California: A 32-year-old cyclist died after she was hit by a car Saturday evening in Sacramento County.
Authorities said the accident took place around 6:51 p.m. on 65th Street north of Florin Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was riding a bicycle south on 65th Street when she tried to cross the road in front of a car driven by a 41-year-old driver.
The driver applied brakes to avoid a collision but still hit the rider.
The woman was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Investigators said impairment was not believed to be a contributing factor.
