Francisco Guzman Identified as Rider Killed in Chula Vista Accident on 805 Freeway near Telegraph Canyon

Chula Vista, California (May 3, 2023) – According to the California Highway Patrol, Francisco Guzman, 26, of Escondido, has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a collision last Wednesday in Chula Vista.

The deadly accident occurred at about 6:00 a.m. on April 26 on Interstate 805 Freeway near Telegraph Canyon Road.

Police confirmed Guzman was heading northbound in a motorcycle when he crashed into a pickup truck traveling alongside him. The pickup truck was changing lanes directly into Guzman’s path. To avoid colliding with the vehicle, Guzman laid down the motorcycle but slammed into the rear of a parked tow truck.

Guzman sustained serious injuries and was taken to UCSD Medical Center. He died briefly after his arrival.
