Gilroy Man Dies in San Martin Pedestrian Crash on Monterey Road
San Martin, California – A 56-year-old Gilroy man died after being struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning in San Martin.
The fatal crash happened around 5:20 a.m. on Monterey Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The man was attempting to cross the street when he walked directly into the path of a Ford Windstar.
The man was hit and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not disclosed pending notification of the family.
The driver, a 55-year-old man from Windsor, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
