Rider Hospitalized in Critical Condition After Burbank Bicycle Accident near Clybourn Avenue and Oxnard Street
Hit-and-Run Suspect Alexander Saenz Arrested After Critically Injuring Cyclist in Burbank
Burbank, California: 23-year-old Alexander Saenz, of Sherman Oaks, was arrested on suspicion of hit-and-run after a crash that happened Tuesday last week in Burbank, police said.
Officers were called to the scene of the collision around 7:20 a.m., January 16, on Clybourn Avenue near Oxnard Street.
At the scene, the officers found a 77-year-old man with serious injuries after he was hit by a vehicle while riding a bicycle. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
Saenz fled the scene after the crash.
Investigators analyzed evidence from the scene and surveillance video from nearby homes and were able to locate Saenz.
The suspect was found at a home in the 100 block of S. First Street at around 10:15 a.m. Thursday. Burbank police officers arrested Saenz after he was interviewed and reportedly admitted to being the driver involved in the hit-and-run. He was booked into jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in serious injury.
