Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested After Fatal Pedestrian Versus Motorcycle Crash in South Los Angeles in 2023
Los Angeles, California: The Los Angeles Police Department said a hit-and-run suspect motorcyclist was arrested Tuesday for fatally hitting a pedestrian last year in South Los Angeles.
According to LAPD, Mark Taylor, 62, is believed to be the rider who hit Raymond Peters, 72, with his motorcycle around 11:45 p.m. on May 4, 2023, on Western Avenue at 79th Street.
Peters was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Prior to the accident, Peters had just parked his vehicle and was attempting to cross Western Avenue when he was hit by Taylor’s newer model Honda Goldwing motorcycle.
Taylor fled the scene but briefly stopped nearby to remove damaged motorcycle parts.
Police said Taylor turned himself in Tuesday and was booked for felony hit-and-run causing death.
