Hope Wood and Peggy Moore, Bay Area Political Leaders, Killed in Fallbrook Crash

Fallbrook, California: 48-year-old Hope Wood, and his wife Peggy Moore were among the four people who died in a traffic collision that happened Friday night in Fallbrook.

The wreck was reported around 11:15 p.m. on Highway 76 near Horse Ranch Creek Road.

The two Bay Area political leaders were passengers in a Jeep pickup truck driven west on the highway by a 60-year-old man that collided with a Chrysler sedan heading east on the highway.

Wood, Moore, the man driving the pickup, and the driver of the Chrysler, all died at the scene of the collision.

Wood was identified by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, but his wife was identified by colleagues and friends on social media posts.

Another passenger in the pickup survived the crash.
