Humberto Ruiz Vargas Dies After Crook County Accident on Highway 126
Crook County, Oregon – The Oregon State Police have released the name of the rider killed in a motorcycle crash on Friday morning in Crook County.
24-year-old Humberto Ruiz Vargas of Priveville died in the Highway 126 crash near mile post 6 that happened at around 7:30 p.m. June 29.
Ruiz Vargas was heading westbound on Highway 126 in a Honda Civic when he veered off the side of the roadway while passing through a left-hand curve.
Ruiz Vargas then overcorrected and drove across the highway on the eastbound side where a Nissan Rogue hit the passenger’s side of the Civic.
The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to overturn on its passenger side.
Ruiz Vargas was airlifted to the hospital where he died.
The Nissan driver, a 39-year-old, and a Nissan passenger, a 22-year-old sustained severe injuries and were taken to the hospital.
An investigation is ongoing.
