A good news is rolling out for GTA 6 fans. Rockstar Games has announced that a sequel to GTA 6 is in the works. So far, this is all we know.
Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar’s most recent addition in the GTA series, was released in 2013. It is still the most recent title in the GTA story over a decade later. While rumors have been circulating for some time that a new Grand Theft Auto game is in development. We now have our first formal indication of this.
Rockstar acknowledged the demand for a GTA V successor and affirmed ongoing work on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 in a recent article highlighting new upgrades for GTA V on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
“Many of you have been wondering about a new Grand Theft Auto game,” Rockstar Games wrote in the article. “With each new work, our objective is to go above and beyond what we’ve done before.” The firm announced, “We’re glad to say that active development on the second edition of the series has begun.”
“We’ll let you know as soon as we get more information, so keep tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official updates.”
It’s worth noting that no trailer, release date, or anything else has to get officially announced. However, many GTA fans will rejoice at the first official confirmation of the game.
If you want to delve into the rumor mill, GTA 6, or GTA VI (whatever title the next installment gets), will be set in a contemporary version of Vice Metropolis, the iconic fictitious city from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
According to rumors, the new Vice City map will be more dynamically evolving, with new DLCs adding additional events to the game and maybe more locations to explore. However, because none of this has to get proven, we advise you to treat this material with caution.
According to YouTuber Tom Henderson’s speculations, Grand Theft Auto 6 will get released around 2024-2025. However, this isn’t confirmed yet.
