Jacob Snelling Dies in DUI Collision at 51st Avenue and Chiapas Drive in Coachella
Coachella, California – 21-year-old Jacob Snelling, of Coachella, has been identified as the man who was killed in a suspected DUI crash in Coachella on Tuesday night.
At around 8:14 p.m., the Riverside County Fire Department responded to reports of a car crash at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Chiapas Drive.
Two vehicles reportedly collided at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
Snelling, a resident of Coachella, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
A second person was injured in the accident and was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
38-year-old Antonio Tellez Leon was driving the second vehicle and was unhurt. He displayed signs of impairment and was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence causing injury, including operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, violation of probation and murder.
