James Alvarez Killed in Ramona Car Accident on Highway 67 near Boortz Lane
Ramona, California (September 6, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly head-on crash that killed James Alvarez, 23, of Ramona early Monday morning in Ramona.
The collision happened on Highway 67 near Boortz Lane at about 3:41 a.m. on September 4.
According to the CHP officials, Alvarez was heading northbound in a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta when he drove across the double yellow lines and crashed head-on into a 2019 Toyota Camry.
Alvarez was declared dead at the accident location. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The 20-year-old Toyota driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center.
No other information concerning this collision was released.
An investigation is ongoing.
