James Jones Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Airport Road in Redding
James Jones Identified as Victim of Redding Car Crash
Redding, California: 90-year-old James Robert Jones was the man who died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday morning on Airport Road in Redding, the Shasta County Coroner’s Office said.
The Redding resident was involved in the crash at around 11:23 a.m. in the 8080 block of Airport Road.
Police said the collision involved a blue PG&E truck, a gold Cadillac sedan, and a Honda sedan.
According to a preliminary investigation, the Cadillac was heading northbound on Airport Road, and the truck was traveling southbound on the same road.
The driver of the Cadillac attempted to turn into Kent’s Meats parking lot, but the truck hit the passenger door of the vehicle.
The Honda was pulling out of the parking lot at the time and was hit in the crash.
Jones was a passenger in the Cadillac and died in the crash.
The Redding Police Department is investigating the collision.
