Jeremiah Hernandez Suffers Severe Injuries After Car Crash at Kern and Niles Streets

Bakersfield, California – Jeremiah Hernandez, 3 years, has been identified as boy severely hurt in a deadly collision that killed a woman on October 13 in Bakersfield.

The crash occurred at about 5:40 a.m. at Kern and Niles streets.

Police said a patrol car was heading westbound on Niles Street when a vehicle traveling northbound did not halt for the stop sign at Kern Street and crashed with the patrol vehicle.

The civilian car driver was thrown out of the vehicle following the crash. They were declared dead at the scene.

Krystal Rubi Reynaga, 26, of Wasco, a front- passenger of the vehicle was rushed to Kern Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.

Jeremiah sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Children’s Hospital in Madera where he was listed in a stable condition.

The officials sustained minor to moderate injuries due to the collision.

Authorities are yet to determine if drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
