Jose Rodriguez Killed in Santa Barbara Crash on Highway 101

Santa Barbara, California – Jose Nicholas Rodriguez, 43, was killed in a wrong-way crash that happened earlier this month in Santa Barbara.

The accident happened on Highway 101 near Los Positas Road at around 9:35 p.m. on October 13, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Rodriguez was driving a Nissan Sentra the wrong-way on Highway 101 and collided with a Volkswagen Atlas and another car.

Rodriguez was killed in the accident, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s-Coroner’s Bureau.

53-year-old Cynthia Boller was driving the Volkswagen and was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Two teenage passengers in the Volkswagen, Nicholas Boller, 16, and Austin Boller, 18, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
