Julian Sosa Arrested After Deadly Head-On Collision in Tucson
Tucson, Arizona: 22-year-old Julian Anselmo Sosa was arrested after he swerved and collided head-on with another vehicle early Sunday morning in Tucson, leaving the other driver, Raul Zepeda Gonzalez, 33, dead.
Tucson police said the collision happened at around 2 a.m. on South Campbell Avenue near East Drexel Road.
Sosa was driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser southbound when he drifted into the northbound lanes and crashed head-on into a 2001 Nissan Altima.
Gonzalez was driving the Altima and died in the crash.
Gonzalez’s passenger, a 31-year-old woman, sustained life-threatening injuries.
Police said Sosa was impaired at the time of the collision and had been swerving between the median and curb lanes of Campbell Avenue prior to the accident.
The driver was arrested and booked into the Pima County Jail on suspicion of manslaughter, aggravated assault, and felony criminal damage.
Officers also found drugs and paraphernalia inside Sosa’s car.
