Juvenile Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Car in San Jose
San Jose, California: A 12-year-old died after being struck by a car Tuesday afternoon near an intersection in San Jose.
The San Jose Police Department said the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the area of Leigh Avenue and Camden Avenue near the Cambrian Park neighborhood.
The minor was reportedly riding a scooter when they were struck by a vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car stopped after the crash and cooperated with investigators.
Westbound Camden Avenue between Leigh and Charmeran avenues was closed following the accident.
Units are currently in the area of Leigh Ave and Camden Ave for a report of a fatal auto vs pedestrian collision. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver involved remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
