Kern County Coroner Identifies Woman Killed in Bakersfield Head-On Crash
Bakersfield, California: 66-year-old Gayla Sue Price of Bakersfield was the woman who died in a head-on collision that happened last month near an intersection in Bakersfield, according to the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
The two-vehicle wreck happened at around 5:44 p.m. on April 18 near Campus Park Drive and Spring Gate Drive.
Bakersfield police, firefighters, and Hall Ambulance personnel responded to the scene after the crash.
The responders found Price in the driver’s seat of her car with major injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men who occupied the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Investigators determined that one of the men was driving east on Campus Park Drive when he crossed into the westbound lanes and crashed into Price’s car head-on.
Authorities believe speed was a contributing factor.
