At Least 2, Including Sheriff’s Deputy, Hospitalized after Santa Clarita Crash at Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon

LASD Deputy Injured in Rollover Collision in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita, California: A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy and a civilian were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Santa Clarita.

The accident took place around 12:30 p.m. at Newhall Ranch Road and Bouquet Canyon Roads.

The LASD Santa Clarita Station said one of their deputies was responding to a burglary when, as he was clearing the intersection, a gold Lexus driven by an elderly driver hit his patrol vehicle. The deputy’s car then struck a silver SUV. The patrol vehicle rolled over several times in the crash and came to a stop on its wheels across the roadway.

The deputy was hospitalized with minor injuries. He was later released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the SUV was also hospitalized with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
