Leroy Smith and Youkhana Atrmiz Killed in Ceres Crash at Hatch Road and Booth Road
Ceres, California – Two people were killed in a car crash that left one other person seriously injured in Ceres on Tuesday night.
The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Hatch Road and Booth Road at about 8:20 p.m., according to the Ceres Police Department.
A Chrysler 300 and a Toyota Prius collided head-on in unclear circumstances.
Leroy Don Smith, 89, of Castro Valley, was riding in the Toyota and was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The driver of the Chrysler, Youkhana Atrmiz, 36, of Ceres, was taken to a local hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
A 64-year-old Castro Valley woman who was driving the Toyota was hospitalized with major injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
