Lisbeth Rodriguez Killed in Vermont Square Pedestrian Accident on 46th Street
Vermont Square, California – 33-year-old Lisbeth Rodriguez died after being struck by a vehicle on Monday afternoon in Vermont Square.
The Los Angeles Fire Department says the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at 1354W 46th Street.
Rodriguez, a young mother and business owner from the neighborhood, was walking home when an SUV jumped the curb and slammed her into a building, pinning her against the wall.
Police say the SUV driver, 31-year-old Dwight Williams, made an unsafe turn at a high rate of speed and struck the pedestrian.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Williams was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
