Lisette Villasenor Killed in Hesperia Car Accident on Highway 395

Hesperia, California (May 13, 2023) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has identified 36-year-old Lisette Villasenor of Victorville as the woman killed in an alleged DUI crash on Thursday evening in Hesperia.

The deadly collision happened on Highway 395, between Poplar and Main Streets, before 6:31 p.m. on May 11.

According to police, 41-year-old Jose Vargas of Adelanto was heading southbound on Highway 395 when he drove into the lane of approaching traffic and crashed head-on into a car operated by Villasenor.

Fire officials and medics rushed to the crash site and conducted CPR on Villasenor. She was transported to a local hospital, where she died.

Villasenor’s children, a 6-year-old boy, and a 12-year-old girl sustained moderate injuries and were hospitalized.

Vargas was not hurt in the accident and was arrested for felony DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.
