Madera Woman Killed in Suspected DUI Collision Identified
Madera County, California: The 20-year-old woman who died in a DUI crash early Monday morning in Madera County has been identified by family members as Emillianne Audler, also known as Emi.
Emi died in a traffic collision involving a DUI suspect that happened at around 4 a.m. on Ellis Street near Fairview Street.
Authorities said Emi was driving a Chevy Malibu westbound on Ellis, and 38-year-old Michael Messer was driving a black truck eastbound in the westbound lane.
The two vehicles collided head-on.
Emi was pronounced dead at the scene.
Messer was not wearing a seatbelt and was hospitalized in critical condition.
Police put Messer under arrest for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Authorities said there were plenty of indicators in the car, including alcoholic containers and some other drug paraphernalia.
Court records also show Messer was arrested in 2018 for DUI and pleaded no contest. He was given three years of probation.
The man was again arrested in 2020 for DUI, and his license was suspended. He failed to appear for a hearing, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
