Santa Cruz County, California: Authorities are investigating a major injury collision that happened Sunday afternoon on State Route 9 in Santa Cruz County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck was reported around 2:13 p.m. on the southbound side just south of State Route 35.
Two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason.
Oil from one of the cars was spilled into traffic lanes.
The report said at least one person suffered severe injuries in the accident.
