Major Injury Collision at Byrnes and Hawkins Roads in Solano County

Solano County, California: At least one person sustained major injuries in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday morning near an intersection in Solano County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The wreck occurred around 7:51 p.m. near Byrnes and Hawkins roads.

A gray Ford F-150 pickup truck and a Toyota SUV were involved in the accident.

The pickup truck sustained major front and left-side damage and ended up partly in a ditch. The SUV went about 20 feet off the roadway, where it stopped on a steep embankment.

Solano County firefighters and paramedics responded and helped at least one person who sustained major injuries.

The report also said about 6 to 8 OZs of transmission fluid leaked from the SUV into a slough with water, prompting the Solano County Water District to respond.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
