Man Airlifted to Hospital after Being Hit by Car in Kent

Kent, Washington: A man was airlifted to the hospital after a pedestrian accident that happened Monday morning near an intersection in Kent.

The Kent Police Department said the accident occurred around 7:12 a.m. on SE 272nd Street at 132nd Avenue SE.

According to police, a man was walking southbound across SE Kent-Kangley Road in a crosswalk but against a red light when he got hit by a car heading westbound.

Emergency personnel transported the pedestrian to Puget Sound Fire Station 75, from where he was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with a head injury.

The driver of the car, a 55-year-old woman from unincorporated Kent in King County, stopped and remained at the scene.
