Man and Woman Killed in Crash at Stowell and Bradley Roads in Santa Maria
Santa Maria, California: A 68-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman were killed in a collision that happened Thursday morning at an intersection in Santa Maria.
The wreck occurred around 9:15 a.m. at Stowell and Bradley roads.
The Santa Maria Police Department, the Santa Maria Fire Department, and American Medical Response responded to the scene, where two vehicles collided.
Based on a preliminary investigation, authorities established that a 20-year-old Santa Maria woman was driving a car eastbound on Stowell Road, and a 68-year-old Santa Maria man was driving a vehicle southbound on Bradley Road with his wife, a 55-year-old Santa Maria woman.
Reportedly, the 20-year-old driver ran a red light at the intersection and hit the passenger side of the other vehicle.
Emergency personnel took the Santa Maria man and his wife to Marian Medical Center, where they both succumbed to their injuries.
The 20-year-old Santa Maria woman stopped and cooperated with authorities. She sustained unspecified injuries.
