Man Attempting to Cross Santa Ana Street Hit and Killed by Vehicle

Santa Ana, California: A man was hit and killed by a vehicle Sunday night while attempting to cross a street in Santa Ana, police said.

The accident occurred just after 10 p.m. in the 2100 block of North Bristol Street.

Authorities responded to the area after they received several 911 calls about a pedestrian down in traffic lanes.

When the officers arrived, they found a man lying in the roadway next to a car.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene after failed resuscitation attempts.

Police investigation showed that the pedestrian was walking westbound across the northbound lanes of Bristol Street when he was hit by a vehicle traveling north.

The driver involved stopped and remained at the scene.
