Man Dead After Crash Sends Car into Canal in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California: A driver died after a two-vehicle collision sent his car into a canal early Tuesday morning in Bakersfield, the California Highway Patrol said.
At around 12:25 a.m., Bakersfield police and other emergency personnel were dispatched to South H Street and Berkshire Road after reports of a collision.
The responders found two vehicles involved in a crash.
One of the cars went off the roadway and fell into a nearby canal. The driver was trapped inside the submerged vehicle.
Several officers entered the water and freed the driver.
The officers and other first responders performed CPR on the victim, but the man died at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle was reportedly unhurt.
Police did not immediately establish the cause of the accident, but they are investigating.

Sacramento County, California: Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon at an intersection in Antelope.
According to the Sacramento Metro Fire District, the accident occurred around 1:50 p.m. at Antelope and Roseville roads.
Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
