Man Fatally Hit by Car Wednesday in Tucson Identified
Tucson, Arizona: 79-year-old Gunji Toriyama died after he was hit by a car while crossing a street Wednesday evening in Tucson, authorities said.
The fatal crash happened around 6 p.m. at East Pima Street and North Rook Avenue.
Toriyama was in a crosswalk near the intersection when he got hit by a Dodge pickup truck going eastbound on E. Pima Street.
The pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the accident.
The 33-year-old driver of the pickup stopped and cooperated with investigators.
Police said the driver was cited in connection to the collision.
