Spanaway Man Dies, Woman and Teen Hospitalized after Crash on State Route 7 near Spanaway
Man Killed, 2 Others Injured in Spanaway Car Crash
Spanaway, Washington: 50-year-old Christopher J. Hall died, and his girlfriend, 50-year-old Loliene Johnson, was injured when a 14-year-old driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle collided with their car early Sunday morning in Elk Plain near Spanaway.
The wreck occurred just before 3 a.m. on State Route 7 at milepost 47.
Authorities said Hall was driving his car south on the highway with his long-time girlfriend as his passenger. At the same time, a 14-year-old Tacoma driver was heading in the same direction in a stolen car.
Police said Hall attempted to make a U-turn across all lanes of traffic, and the teen crashed into his vehicle.
Hall died at the scene. His girlfriend was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. Both are residents of Spanaway.
The teen driver was also hospitalized at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
Police said no one was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The roadway remained blocked for more than five hours following the collision.
