Man Killed After Driver Runs Stop Sign in Tulare County

Tulare County, California: A man died in a car crash after a car ran a stop sign Wednesday at an intersection in Tulare County.

The wreck took place at Road 180 and Avenue 208.

According to the California Highway Patrol, June A. Fisher, 67, of Strathmore, was driving a Ram 3500 southbound on Road 180, approaching the intersection with Avenue 208.

At the same time, a 40-year-old Strathmore man was driving a 2006 Nissan Maxima eastbound on Avenue 208, approaching the intersection with Road 180.

Investigators said Fisher failed to observe the stop sign at the intersection and hit the left side of the Nissan.

The Nissan crashed into the stop sign and came to rest in a dirt field.

The Ram overturned and came to rest in the dirt field as well.

The man driving the Nissan died in the cash.

Fisher was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Authorities said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the collision.
