Man Killed in 605 Freeway Crash in Lakewood Identified
Lakewood, California: 54-year-old Kelly Drake was identified as the man who died in a seven-vehicle crash that happened Sunday night on 605 Freeway in Lakewood.
Another person was hospitalized after the pileup that happened at around 8:14 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway at Carson Street.
The California Highway Patrol said Drake was a passenger in one of the cars and died in the crash.
Another person was hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
The collision was reportedly triggered by an earlier two-car crash at the Carson Street off-ramp after several motorists were unable to avoid the crash.
Investigators closed all the southbound lanes except the far right lane as they worked the scene.
