Man Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash
Bakersfield, California: A man died after he was struck by a car early Sunday morning in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident happened just after 2:30 a.m. in the 9500 block of Meacham Road.
First responders found the man with major injuries.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was walking west on Meacham Road when he was hit by a car also going west on the same road.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police believe alcohol and speed contributed to the accident.
An investigation is ongoing.
