Man Killed in Fiery Big Rig Collision on Highway 101 in Gaviota
Gaviota, California: 25-year-old Thomas McGregor of Santa Barbara died earlier this month in a fiery collision in Gaviota, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said.
The collision happened around 3 a.m. on Highway 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road.
According to authorities, the collision involved a pickup truck and a semi-truck.
First responders found the pickup truck engulfed in fire.
McGregor, who was driving the pickup, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck driver refused hospitalization for their minor injuries.
Investigators closed the highway for several hours as they worked the scene.
