Morall Griffin Dies in Yuba County Crash on Marysville Road near Everglade Trail

Man Killed in Head-On Collision in Yuba County Identified

Yuba County, California: 26-year-old Morall Griffin of Oakland was the driver who died when two vehicles collided head-on in Yuba County, authorities said.

Griffin’s car collided head-on with another vehicle driven by 19-year-old Miguel Lopez of Browns Valley.

According to investigators, the wreck occurred around 3:43 a.m. on Marysville Road north of Everglade Trail.

Lopez was driving a 2013 silver Chrysler 300 north on Marysville when he collided head-on with Griffin’s 2006 silver Toyota Prius near the centerline of the road. Griffin was traveling south on Marysville Road.

Emergency personnel pronounced Griffin dead at the scene and transported Lopez to Adventist Health/Rideout Hospital in Marysville with major injuries.

Both drivers were the only occupants of the cars. Lopez was wearing a seatbelt but Griffin was not.

An investigation is ongoing.
